Butet Anatomic Breastplate

The Butet Anatomic Breastplate is a beautiful quality leather breastplate, designed to match the Butet saddle. Made from grained leather and lined with soft calfskin padding, the breastplate features a bridge over the neck and includes a running martingale attachment. The anatomic design of the breastplate gives freedom for the shoulders, with the shape curving over the shoulder. The breastplate is adjustable between the legs, on the strap running to the girth on each side and on the bridge itself enabling it easy to achieve the perfect fit. We find that this is the perfect design to prevent a saddle from slipping. By anchoring the saddle from the girth rather than the saddle D rings, a breastplate is much more effective at keeping a saddle in place.

Please note that the gold leather is unoiled and therefore looks quite light in colour. Once it has had a couple of coats of oil, it will darken substantially and match the Butet gold colour saddles. Butet Akene Oil is available to purchase here

We recommend Butet cleaning products to take care of your breastplate. Butet Akene Soap should be used to clean it after each use and Butet Akene Cream used weekly to condition the leather.
