The Mattes Sheepskin Lined Saddlepad with Correction System is a great choice for using under your saddle. The correction system allows you to make minor adjustments to the balance of the saddle using shims within the pad. The sheepskin lining is fantastic for absorbing concussion on the horses back. 

The sheepskin lining can protect against friction – and is helpful on horses with sensitive skin. This can be of particular use in the winter, when the horses coat and skin is changing. At this time, sensitive horses are prone to losing hair and rubbing. The sheepskin can help to prevent this. The pad is well shaped for the wither, to avoid it from getting low and tight in this area. The Correction System allows you (under the guidance of a saddle fitter) to make minor adjustments to the balance of your saddle. 

The Mattes Sheepskin Lined Saddlepad with Correction System:

• Is spine free – meaning that there is a clear channel through the gullet of the saddle to avoid narrowing the saddle and getting tight in this area
• Is designed to absorb concussion 
• Is ideal for horses with sensitive skin
• Features a “chicken wire” quilting and sheepskin lining
• Has a velcro strap to attach to the girth straps if desired. The pad is supplied with the velcro, but as the pads don’t tend to move, if you don’t want the velcro, you can just cut it off. Also has a girth loop at the bottom of the pad.
