The Butet Practice Saddle is a fantastic training tool, handmade by the Butet workshop in Saumur, France. It is designed to strip the saddle back to the very basics, with a flat seat and no blocks at all. It’s as close as you can get to riding bareback, but with a girth and stirrups. This means that the rider cannot rely on their saddle for balance and instead must develop their own independent balance.
Some thoughts on the Butet Practice Saddle:
“The Practice saddle helps the the rider become aware of how balanced they are, where their leg is and where they sit. An excellent coach’s tool.”
YOGI BREISNER
“I Immediately felt I was in natural balance, so I can see how the saddle would really help develop an independent seat and lower leg security, I really enjoyed jumping in it and would love to try it cross country!”
ANDREW NICHOLSON
“Human beings have a desire to find their own natural balance. The Practice allows riders to achieve this without restriction.”
LARS SEDERHOLM – WORLD RENOWNED TRAINER
“It took one lesson in the saddle to get my pupil to feel what I had been explaining for months. I want one!”
FRED BERGENDORF – INTERNATIONAL SHOWJUMPER AND COACH
